A CNN anchor tried to make President Donald Trump look bad and failed miserably.

The mainstream media has been reporting on Trump's takeover on Washington D.C.'s law enforcement, generally framing it as unconstitutional, fascist, authoritarian and a number of other pejoratives.

CNN anchor Abby Phillip appeared to be piling on.

“Donald Trump makes himself Batman, and the nation's capital is Gotham City. The President of the United States has declared himself Crime Fighter in Chief,” Phillip said live on CCN, clipped by Fox News.

That caught the imagination of the MAGA faithful who, for once, agreed with CNN. For example, one woman posted on X, “I think CNN finally got something right. He is a billionaire who fights evil after all… Trump is Batman Crime-fighter-in-chief.”

Nick Kangadis of Media Research Center says that after all these years one would think CNN would be better at hating on the president.

“If Trump came out tomorrow and said, 'we have the cure for cancer,' CNN would be rooting for cancer,” Kangadis comments.

He says the desperate news network as seen its better days.

“If it wasn't for Scott Jennings, nobody would watch at all anymore unless it was on in an airport," states Kangadis.

Then again, maybe Phillip was actually breaking some real news. Kangadis says he looked around and found a little snippet from 8 years ago during Trump’s first campaign. The video shows President Trump responding to a little boy’s question by saying “I am Batman.”
