MRC: Liberal news media just can't help hoping all evil is white

After a CNN anchor described a dark-skinned New York City gunman as “possibly white” during a live segment, the odd moment became another embarrassing example for the liberal news media.

Even though security footage (pictured below) clearly showed a dark-skinned gunman entering the Manhattan skyscraper, Erin Burnett said Shane Tamura was “possibly white” during her Monday broadcast.

Burnett’s odd observation didn’t go unnoticed at media watchdog Media Research Center. MRC spokesman Nick Kangadis says CNN, and other liberal news outlets, have a history of ignoring crime-related stories unless the suspect is white.

“Look how much CNN is talking about the attack that happened in Cincinnati. Not at all,” Kangadis says.

Kangadis was referring to the brutal weekend attack that left a man and woman, both white, seriously injured by a crowd of attackers who were black. The attack was filmed and that footage has gone viral.

Often, when a liberal news outlet reports on such an incident, the newsroom's angle is how conservatives "seized" on the issue of race.

Referring to the tenets of Critical Race Theory, Kangadis says the mainstream media sticks to a narrative that whites are oppressors and minorities are the oppressed.

“It's almost as if they just wanted him to be white so they tried to will it into existence,” the MRC spokesman observed.

The initial NYPD reports of the shooting described the gunman as Middle Eastern descent, The New York Post reported.
