CBS has settled an election interference lawsuit with President Trump over an edited interview that the president says was meant to hurt his 2024 campaign. This is the latest in a series of legal losses for a biased mainstream media.
CBS was interviewing Kamala Harris on “60 Minutes” late in the campaign, when it decided to correct a Harris "word salad." According to the Trump campaign, the purpose was to make Harris look more presidential and push her toward the White House.
This was Harris' original answer: “But it seems that Prime Minister Netanyahu is not listening. Well, Bill, … the work that we have done has resulted…”
And this was the alleged stealth edit: “But it seems that Prime Minister Netanyahu is not listening. We're not going to stop pursuing…”
CBS has agreed to pay President Trump an initial $16 million with more to come. CBS did not admit to any wrongdoing, and the money will be used to pay for the lawsuit and go to other charitable causes.

Nick Fondacaro of Media Research Center says CBS got caught.
“They wanted to protect the Democratic ticket. Now, they're out millions of dollars, and now, they have to retool their editorial process to promptly release the transcripts,” Fondacaro says
It's the latest in a series of victories for the president over media outlets. In December, Trump got $15 million from ABC in a defamation suit, and in January, he got $25 million from Meta after Facebook and Instagram improperly blocked his accounts.
Fondacaro says those wins can be added to defamation payouts to people like then-high school student Nick Sandman and Navy veteran Zachary Young.
“There are hardworking and average Americans out there who are becoming victims of the liberal media, and they're trying to hold the media to account,” Fondacaro states.
With the number of accountability cases rising, the media can no longer get away with preferential bias.
