Gary Bauer of American Values says the latest example of the antisemitic right was Tucker Carlson interviewing the Holocaust-denying political commentator Nick Fuentes and refusing to challenge him on just about anything.
For an example, SOSCAST podcast hosted by Adam Sosnick interviewed Fuentes on the show. He tried to dodge a direct question on if Hitler was a bad guy. Instead of answering yes or no, he choose to be neutral before having to give an answer.
Sosnick: “You're saying that Hitler was not a bad guy?”
Fuentes: “If we're going to say Hitler bad, then I'm going to say Churchill bad. And I'm going to say Roosevelt bad, and I'm going to say they're all bad.”
Bauer says Carlson used to be one of the good guys.
“I don't know what in the world Tucker Carlson was thinking. I think he made a mistake bringing that guy, that loser, on his show, and I wish Tucker would own up to that,” states Bauer.
The Wall Street Journal recently published an article titled “The New Right’s New Antisemites.” It highlights how this antisemitic political poison is infesting the new right, especially highlighting how the president of the Heritage Foundation, apologist Kevin Roberts, was defending Carlson for having Fuentes on his show.
Carlson, Owens and this growing antisemitic right say it's the Israeli government they oppose. But Bauer says Carlson has verbally attacked what he calls Christian Zionists. Christian Zionists, Bauer says, are Christians that believe the Bible.
“God made a covenant with the Jews and gave them a homeland in Judea and Samaria,” states Bauer.
The Christian Broadcasting Network wrote that, during the podcast with Fuentes, Carlson said that Christian Zionism was church heresy and that those who believe in it are seized with a brain virus. He also says that he dislikes them more than anything and is offended by them as a Christian.
Many of the Antisemites on the right say God has abandoned the nation of Israel and transferred his covenant to the Christian church.
“I want to make it very clear: you cannot be a Christian and hate Jews. Jesus was a Jew,” states Bauer.
