FriendShips, an all-volunteer international disaster relief and humanitarian organization, is blessing the Syrian people.

The Israeli government invited FriendShips to come into a city hard hit by the Syrian civil war years ago to help the Syrians in a variety of ways.

Murray Douglas is on staff with the Christian organization Friendships.

"We run a day clinic, just general kind of family doctor type services, but then we also have distribution of clothes, and occasionally we get some food in for those that are needy which is pretty much everybody in town,” he said.

The days are long, and the work is hard, but the staff tries to make time for fun with suffering children.

“It is a very poor community that we're operating in, but then we also run a playground, just fun things for the local children. It’s the summer holidays, so school is out. Most days we have up to around 70 children that will come through. We’ve made some really good inroads to the people here because we're here operating in the fruit of the Spirit. We're here showing them love, peace, joy, and it's exciting to see them responding to that.
