Iran's foreign minister plays dumb, sounds defiant, in Fox interview

A pro-Israel activist says an unusual Fox News interview, which featured Iran’s foreign minister, gave the West an opportunity to see evil up close.

In an exclusive interview this week with Bret Baier, Abbas Araghchi appeared on “Special Report” to confirm his nation will continue its nuclear enrichment program. That vow came even after American B-2 bombers, on orders from President Trump, dropped precision bombs on Iran’s mountainous nuclear facilities.

“We cannot give up enrichment because it is an achievement of our own scientists,” he said. “And now, more than that, it is a question of national pride. Our enrichment is so dear to us.”

Elsewhere in the interview, the Iranian diplomat denied the Islamic Republic is trying to assassinate President Trump and also denied Iran wants to wipe Israel, the Iran regime’s hated enemy, off the map.

Gary Bauer, who previously served on the board of Christians United for Israel, is a vocal defender of the state of Israel. He says the interview allowed an enemy of the West to share its point of views.

“On the other hand,” Bauer observes, “it is a chance for us to see with our own eyes just how recalcitrant and committed they are to their very bad and often evil causes. "
