The 9-11 attack on the Twin Towers in New York were carried out by the Islamic terrorist group al Qaeda. Now, 20 years later, the Democratic mayoral candidate for New York City is not only antisemitic but has shown support for Hamas, which the U.S. recognizes as a terrorist group.
Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently joined domestic critics of the New York mayoral candidate by blasting Zohran Mamdani campaign proposals for the largest U.S. city as "nonsense." He predicted the Democrat mayoral nominee would only serve one term if elected in November.
New York City has the largest Jewish population of any city outside of Israel, with an estimated 1.2 million Jews.
Mamdani has been very critical the Israeli leader vowing to arrest him if he ever visited the city. Furthermore, he has referred to Israel’s military actions in the war with Hamas as “genocide,” and has previously defended the phrase “globalize the intifada” as a Palestinian human rights cry.
Netanyahu made it clear that he was "not happy" with Mamdani's primary election, but he dismissed his candidacy as a temporary "folly."

"Who would have thought that almost 24 years after 9-11 that the city of New York, where the biggest tragedy, the biggest attack on America happened that took place, that that city would nominate somebody like that in the primary,” states Gabriel. “An Islamist standing with the terrorist organizations, and those people who said ‘we will never forget’ already forgot in New York."
Gabriel says we cannot afford to forget.
"They say freedom is only one generation away from extinction, and this is why we need to remember that it is important to keep patriotism alive. It's important to keep the memory of 9-11 alive," Gabriel concludes.
