Dr. Alex McFarland finds it "very troubling" that the new books offer messages focused on "diversity, inclusion, and social justice" to reach "progressive" Christians who are "turned off by traditional presentations of Scripture."
"The Word of God is not to be tampered with," he states. "We're to proclaim it, believe it, follow it, live it, and pass it on to upcoming generations."
To avoid providing "ancillary PR," he does not give any of these books' titles or name any of their authors or publishers. But Fox News reports the authors of a "justice-oriented" storybook for children ages 4-10 that presents some biblical stories as "made-up" and portrays Jesus as a feminist acknowledge that "readers who interpret the Bible literally may not be the right audience for their book."
"The Bible is very clear about the judgment God pronounces, and, in fact, warns of for those that tamper with His word in this way," McFarland relays.
He says the Bible does not advocate for the woke, progressive, leftist agenda; its theme is salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.
"God sent His Son to die and rise to pay for the sin debt of a fallen world, and to tamper with that message is to heap judgment on oneself," he reiterates.
Citing Romans 22:18 and 19, McFarland says God will add the, in his words, "very horrendous" judgments in the book of Revelation to those who add to God's Word. He also notes the "chilling warning" from Revelation 22:19 for those who take away from the Word of God: their names will be taken away from the Lamb's Book of Life.
To the people who are taking sin and the Savior out of the Bible, McFarland says, "They need to repent, ask God's forgiveness, and instead of perverting the Word of God, they themselves need to actually believe it."
