The event is put on by Family Research Council (FRC). Washington, D.C., has been the usual host site, but organizers flipped the script this year and held the event at Calvary Chapel Chino Hills in California where Sophia Lorey of California Family Council said there is a battle against males in female sports.
"As a former collegiate athlete, I want to stand alongside the girls that are losing these opportunities," said Lorey in a panel discussion on Title IX issues. "I want to use my voice to help defend and protect them because I know how much athletics can bring to females. I know that it can help pay for college. I know that it teaches you life lessons that go far beyond being athletes."
Louisiana Pastor Luke Ash talked about his being fired from a job at a library over Ash not using a preferred pronoun policy. Liberty Counsel has since sent a demand letter to the library asking it to reinstate Ash with backpay and revise its pronoun policy to respect the religious free exercise rights of all employees.
"If I don't fight, my kids will have to fight, and I don't want my kid to have to fight a battle that I cowered in," said Ash during a panel discussion about pronoun policies.
Israel was also a topic of conversation.
Pastor Jack Hibbs, whose Calvary Chapel Chino Hills congregation hosted Pray Vote Stand, said it is vital that Christians and America support Israel.
"This nation has been given more than any other nation in all of human history, and if we turn on Israel, I believe in short order, I don't mean 100 years, I don't mean 50 years, I think in short order you will see the hand of God's judgement fall upon this Christ-rejecting nation," said Hibbs in a panel discussion about Israel with Michele Bachmann (R-Minnesota), a former U.S. House member.
Aggressive growth plans
These are just some of the things that Tony Perkins, president of Family Research Council, said Christians need to pray about, vote for, and take a stand on today. To help advance that message, Perkins said he is planning for a Pray Vote Stand chapter in every county of America. Each chapter would be anchored to a church.
"So, there are 3,200 counties in America, and over the next ten years, our goal is to ensure that there is a church with a pastor who preaches the word of God that has a Pray Vote Stand chapter that will reach their county and encourage, No. 1, relationships with the leaders," Perkins told the audience. "They'll pray with them, they'll hold them accountable, they'll have people run for office if the ones in office will not respond. We want 3200 Pray Vote Stand chapters working from the bottom up to transform America."
AFA Action is a sponsor of Pray Vote Stand Summit and held a workshop with Jameson Taylor, M.D. Perkins, and Trey Dellinger that "exposed the lies behind the LGBTQ agenda and its harmful impact on kids." Debbie Wuthnow of iVoterGuide, later took the stage and reminded believers "how informed voters can shape a nation rooted in truth."
