Reflecting on the last 250 years since Christian moral truths and ideas influenced the nation's founding, the former secretary of state and failed presidential hopeful told MSNBC's Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski that America's journey to a more perfect union is on pause.
She did not mention him or the Christian faith by name, but the inference is that Donald Trump and his evangelical supporters have reversed the progress Democrats were making under Barack Obama and Joe Biden.
"The idea that you could turn the clock back and try to recreate a world dominated by, you know, let's say it, white men of a certain religion, is just doing such damage to what we should be aiming for," she said.
She seemingly forgot that her husband, Bill Clinton, is a white man who was raised in a Southern Baptist church and that she regularly attended church with him during his time in the White House. Obama has also consistently identified as a Christian throughout his public career, and Joe Biden's pigmentation and Catholicism are apparently inconsequential.
Also, though many historic statues were removed as mandated by a federal commission during Joe Biden's time in office, Clinton blamed "the Right" for erasing certain parts of American history, ignoring the so-called progress that was being made before and since Trump's first term.
"We were on the path toward that," she lamented. "Imperfectly, but we were on the right trajectory."
Many Americans remember that path being paved with division, identity politics, BLM riots, cancel culture, and the transgender contagion.
Washington Times columnist Robert Knight says the simple fact is the MAGA movement ruined everything for Clinton and her cronies.
"The hard Left had captured the schools, the media, the entertainment industry and were pushing a radical ideology down Americans' throats," he recalls. "I think the Left is losing its grip on the country and is getting increasingly shrill in complaining about it."
He is glad to see that Western values are starting to reassert themselves.
