University of California professor Michael Moreshed posted a vile comment about Charlie Kirk on a friend's social media post. Libs of TikTok outed the comment on X, tagging the university regarding the professor’s actions.
As Time Magazine reports, people have been fired and suspended for their unsavory social media posts. It has become a trend to find the jobs of people who are posting hateful comments regarding Kirk’s assassination and to inform their boss so that they can face disciplinary action. An anonymous website has published these posts with the information of the poster and their employment to “Expose Charlie’s Murders.”
No one is untouched as Secret Service, military personal, airplane pilots, reporters, comic writers, and even MSNBC Matthew Dowd have either been fired or suspended. The Trump administration even announced that they will be looking closely to the social media accounts of individuals with visas or those seeking visas.
Moreshed is not the first member of a university to post nasty comments. The University of Mississippi and Middle Tennessee State University have both fired staff members for their social media posts.

However, as Matt Lamb of The College Fix reports, Moreshed contacted The Fix to say that he now sincerely regrets the post. Moreshed said that he acted impulsively and admitted that his comment was insensitive. He even found that he agreed with some of Kirk’s beliefs.
"I think he was being sincere because, even after the interview, he followed up to ask for advice on anything else he can do to make the situation better. I take this instructor at his word that he said something off the cuff impulsively and then realized his error," says Lamb.
AFN asked if Moreshed was worried about colleagues being critical of his reversal.
“I certainly hope that he doesn't get canceled just for expressing some mild agreement with center right views," answers Lamb.
Lamb hopes other professors will now be encouraged to retract some of the hateful statements they've been making.
