Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) in Virginia says it will suspend two boys for ten days after the girl, who identifies as male, secretly recorded them back in March in the boys' bathroom. It is reported that one of the boys and his family have now moved out of state.
This follows after LCPS announced a Title IX investigation into the boys.
AFN talked with Candi Cushman, vice president of Grassroots and Communications Strategies at The Family Foundation of Virginia. She describes this as a 'really shocking case’ for finding two 15-year-old boys guilty for expressing their discomfort for the opposite sex in the men’s bathroom.
"You've got this situation where the school is pushing down from the top this kind of woke indoctrination policies and then leaving kids to fend for themselves essentially. That's going to be harmful to all kids involved," says Cushman.
She continues by saying that this comes down to the school's effort to push 'this radical gender ideology, their woke indoctrination, and punish kids for not complying.'
The video by the transgender student recorded that one of the boys asked why there was a girl in the boys' bathroom.
"And out of this, we now have this outrageous determination of guilt for sexual harassment based on these boys' free speech attempts to express discomfort,” Cushman says. “So, I am very disturbed that we see this gross abuse of authority that Title IX is inappropriately being weaponized against kids to punish free speech and religious conviction."
Cushman says these kids are coming from religious faith backgrounds where biology matters to them.
"To punish them for their free speech and religious convictions is inappropriate, and our Founding Freedoms Law Center is going to continue to fight for these kids,” says Cushman.
She says people need to understand this is not just about these boys. She says this can happen again, adding that parents and students need to keep speaking up about these situations.
The Founding Freedoms Law Center will take the next legal steps in defending these boys.
"Loudoun County has once again chosen woke ideology over common sense and student well-being. These boys are being made examples of simply for acknowledging biological reality. We will not allow their futures to be destroyed by an unconstitutional and unjust punishment," states Victoria Cobb, president of the Founding Freedoms Law Center.
