New report shows LGBT Pride momentum continuing to slow

A new report says LGBT Pride events have been forced to scale back due to lack of donations and support.

It's reported that LGBT activists in Oklahoma have postponed an upcoming 'pride' event because of not enough financial support.

LGBT groups in New York and Texas are also reporting money problems, per Life Site News.

Megan Benton is Strategic Policy Associate for Texas Values.

"I think it's a real indication of the direction that the State of Texas, as well as a lot of the nation, is heading. A few years ago, I think the LGBT movement was kind of in its heyday. Now, it seems to be losing some momentum."

She said that while there's still a lot of work to be done, Texas, and other conservative states, have done a great job promoting family and traditional values.

“That is leading more people towards the truth and away from the lives that are being spread by, truly, the minority of people in the country. And we’ve got to continue pushing back."

Benton said just in Texas alone, there has been a wave of what she called, 'common sense legislation.'

She referenced HB 229 “which is the What is a Woman Bill, which passed the legislature in the regular session, making it clear in state law of what a man is and what a woman is, as well as the Texas Women's Privacy Act, which protects women and girls' private spaces, such as locker rooms, restrooms, and shelters.”

The Texas Women’s Privacy Act has passed out of the Texas Senate and is on its way to the House.

Benton said she would argue that a large number of people are changing their preferences.

People “are no longer interested in going to Pride parades and things like that, but I think the majority of people are starting to stand up to the left-wing propaganda and say 'we want common sense and truth.’ So, we're in a great place."
