Author and evangelist Kirk Cameron said in an interview with AFN that See You at the Library is coming up on August 16.
"See You at the Library is what many parents and grandparents have been looking for: an opportunity to do something to advance the good, to get off the defense, to get on the offense, and start taking back the culture for our children and for our grandchildren,” Cameron says.
The event began in 2023 after Cameron was denied by multiple libraries the chance to read his children’s book As You Grow which focuses on the Fruit of the Spirit. After expressing that this was against his First Amendment right, the libraries allowed him to read his book. See You at the Library soon began as protestors and libraries tried to shut down the Christians book reading Cameron hosted.
He described it as a day where tens of thousands of parents are going to gather at public libraries with their kids for a time of prayer, singing, and reading stories of wholesome virtue.

"We've now done this for three years in a row, and it's made the news. We've had over 360 story hours last year and tens of thousands of participants in all 50 states, and it's grassroots. It's led by the people. They begin by taking back story hour by advancing the good…" informs Cameron.
Cameron said this year, they hope to double those numbers with more than 500 story hours and fifty-thousand people taking part on August 16. He says this is not a protest but a movement of faith.
"If we care about our children, if we want to leave a legacy that includes a land of promise and opportunity and blessing, this is our chance,” Cameron encourages. “The other side is advancing their values to steal away your children's virtue and their morality and their spirituality. Every day, they're making progress, and so if we don't show up, if we don't stand up for our own values now, we and our children will not have the freedom to live them later."
He said he liked how Ronald Reagan said it.
"He said if we ever forget that we are one nation under God, we will become a nation gone under. So, this is an opportunity on August 16 for us to change that,” Cameron states.
He prompts others to get involved with the event.
“Find one of these libraries, get togethers in your area, or even better, start one in your local community. We will even send you a starter kit, we'll teach you how to do it, and you can watch videos of how this has gone in the past. So, it's very exciting, it's simple to do, and I think we should all get on board,” Cameron concludes.
