Elie Mystal, justice correspondent and a columnist for The Nation, wrote an article published last week. It is headlined “Democrats Should Become the Pro-Porn Party.” The premise of the article follows the claim that advocating for porn will help Democrats win back young men who left the party for fascism.
In it, Mystal argues that pornography is "viewed and enjoyed by all sorts of people." He writes that one of the highest, best uses of it is that it helps young people figure out "what they're actually into."
He advocates that pornography is a part of the free speech issue that Democrats should embrace as Republicans and the governments try to regulate it.
Alex McFarland, a Christian apologist and co-host of Exploring the Word on AFR, reacted to this development.
"I was shocked, recently, when an article in The Nation suggested that the Democratic Party could win male voters by advocating for pornography use, and they said advocating for porn to attract males who have embraced fascism," says McFarland.
McFarland said that the current administration, advocating for rule of law and following the U.S. Constitution and laws and protections for taxpaying American citizens rather than illegals, felons, and terrorists, is not fascism.

"Let me just say this: not only as a counselor but as a pastor, that, for 30 years plus, I've worked with families, couples, and certainly young adults whose lives have been incredibly negatively impacted by porn addiction. This is terrible. And the Democratic Party groping anything at any cost to try to attract voters-- advocating pornography?" McFarland says.
McFarland gave numbers.
"Right now, it is estimated that 60% of U.S. men have problems with pornography. At least 11% of males are addicted to pornography, and that's why the CDC, psychiatrists, and psychologists treat porn addiction as they would drug addiction and any other controlled substance,” explains McFarland.
He said volumes of research have documented the toll that pornography takes on marriages, relationships, and more.
“…at a moment when our nation desperately needs people to advocate for marriage, morality, family, commitment, character, bringing children into the world and raising children to have ethics,” he continues.
McFarland said people should not be surprised at the move to encourage pornography from the Democratic Party. He states that this is the same party that “advocates no legal protection for the unborn, the murder of unborn humans” and “stands for terrorists and Hamas rather than Israel, the only stable democracy in the Middle East, our longest ally.”
“This is the party that has sanctuary cities for illegals and felons, and the major urban areas that are run by Democrat leaders are dystopian wastelands that it's not even fit to go in. This is the party that wants to give needles, syringes, heroin, and drugs to people who need to be helped out of addiction," stresses McFarland.
He concludes that advocating for porn to get votes is to be expected from "the party of death."
